The 4 piston calipers are going to do a very similar job at distributing x amount of force as the 6 piston design. 4 pot calipers means that the brake calipers are holding 4 pistons.

4 Piston Calipers Vs 6 Piston Calipers X Runner Underground
4 piston calipers vs 6 piston. The scatpack with 4 piston brakes needed 106 feet the hellcat with 6 piston brakes needed 104 feet. I have 18 wheels so anything will fit. In other words no much. Maybe that 2 foot difference becomes 4 5 feet when adjusted for weight. Thats because the pads are what 35 to 4 long. The calipers themselves are made from a variety of materials steel and aluminum being the most popular steel for durability and aluminum for weight.
They are almost always fixed position calipers without a bracket similar to the 4 piston design. 6 piston calipers usually feature 3 inboard and 3 outboard opposing pistons. Compare that to one of those really long 6 pads found in a huge 15 rotor set up. My biggest problem is that i dont know how muchif any track time the car will see. If you track regularly you probably knew about the benefit of 6 piston vs. Given the hellcat had nearly 200 additional pounds to stop.
As the title suggest looking for opinions on wilwood brake setups for my 67 camaro currently 4 wheel drums. Some say they arent happy with 4 piston stopping power and they shouldve gone with 6 piston. 4 piston so i would think you are not track junkie so i would say stick with 4 piston which will give you more than enough stopping power. Different types of calipers the thing that holds the pistons themselves will hold different amounts and types of pistons. Six and four piston brake calipers reason number two is that a four piston caliper with two sets of opposed pistons can be set up to squeeze the front two pistons slightly before the rear pair. They are almost always fixed position calipers without a bracket similar to the 4 piston design.
There are a bunch of kits out there from the 4 piston1219 rotor setup to the 6 piston1219 setup to the 6 piston1288 rotor setup for the front.
