Run the power straight from the battery or from the connection on the pdc to a relay then to your switched ignition source. 12v ignition switched power source. 7troadster premium member. I deleted the ballast combined the wires and am triggering a relay that gives power to said switched 12v efi wire and ign coil. The problem i have is that this sytem looses power for a brief moment when the key is let go from crank and switches into run. Ive been chasing this issue for quite a while. Little story upfront my efi requires a switched 12v source that stays active during crank and run. That results in a tailchasing startstall with the efi and ign coil briefly loosing power.
That way it wont rob the pre existing component of much electricity. Connect it to the fuse and plug in the fuse. Imho the best way to do this is to wire in relays to perform high draw functions. This is the only source of ignition power during cranking it originally was the brown going to the coil side of the ballast and therefore bypassed the ballast during cranking and also provided ignition power during this function. That way the wire from the switched ignition source draws minimal power basically acting as a on off trigger. Are three small spade contacts at least one of which is switched 12 volt i think the other is constant 12v not sure what the 3rd is maybe ground. Could get a fuse holder tap.
