So im covering the fabric on my doors and after researching it looks like everyone uses 3m 90 spray adhesive. We invented 3m super 77 multipurpose spray adhesive to be an extremely versatile fast drying spray adhesive that bonds a wide range of lightweight materials.

3m 77 vs 90. Used the 77 in anther veh. Used the 90 on the headliner of my 740 5 6yrs ago and still holding strong. Our permanent bond provides fast results to keep projects moving ahead. I wouldnt use it for my headliner but for the doors im thinking itd be sufficient right. I have had good luck using 3m hi strength 90 spray adhesive. 3m 90 holds to 160 degrees 3.
I bough some new cloth from seyberts and was all set to use 3m super 77 to adhere it to my slate i do not have a backer board when i called seyberts mechanic and he recommended high strength 90. Cloth adhesion 3m super 77 or 3m high strength 90. The 90 seems to hold up the best in the high heat areas. And within a year it started to sag in areas and had to be redone. All i can find in stores is 3m 77. Naturally what you spray it on makes a difference too.
3m super trim adhesive yellow part number 08090 and its meant for heavy headliners and hight heat hood shields and shit like that. Loctite max strength headliner adhesive holds to 125 degrees these figures are from the manufactures data sheets sem also makes a strong spray adhesive but ive yet to find it. My freind used it and he says it works good so im going to go find some tommorow that super 90 or the super 77 bolth suck. Is there a great difference or will 77 do the trick. Like is it painted old glue metal fiber. Which is stronger and does not require spraying both surfaces for optimal holding.
With mostly poor results. Surface to surface paper felt fabric vinyl leather rubber wood cork glass metal flexible plastic rigid plastic flexible foam paper felt fabric vinyl. I just used what ever 3m was for sale at joaann fabrics use the 90 difference is one is alot stronger than the other the 77 wiil sag away after awhile heatweight and gravity. Cloth adhesion 3m super 77 or 3m high strength 90. 3m 77 holds to 100 degrees 2. Posted by 4 years ago.
I cant spray both surfaces cause i have to roll up the individual thick whispermat 2 pieces to fit inside the small driver holes. Im getting conflicting info about 3m 77 anf 90 adhesives. I went through the whole list of other adhesives like other brands 3m 77 water based brushed on etc. The photo safe spray formula is easy to dispense and apply directly onto surfaces and materials where needed with no soak in or yellowing over time. I personally use the loctite and never had a problem.
