A 4 link system is more stable and much smoother because of its ability to adapt to the terrain beneath the truck also there is no binding with a 4 link system making the movement of the truck much less restricted. Irs best ride due to lowest unsprung weight. My frind sais go with the 5 link suspention its a 2 day job to build. No problem with gatswaai i still maintain that was a poor batch of shocks on the tuna roll. 3 link should be good too. In our system the ori air strut combined with the superior geometry of our 4 link design eliminates suspension unload completely.
4 link rear suspension will properly locate the rear axle no matter how soft we want to make the spring. Jeeps use the 4 link setup which is theoretically better for off road use but older land rovers use a radius arm setup and are known for excellent off roading. Different vehicles use different setups for all sorts of reasons. I dont think ive driven a 3 link car but i have driven a 5 link car quite nice. Ive street driven and raced my car extensively with the 4 link until 2001 when i retrofitted the irs and even more experiece since. Wrangler has 5 link suspension front and rear.
Hensh my question torque arm watts link 4 link suspention vs 5 link suspention. With 4 link suspension the two functions of locating the rear axle and supporting the vehicle are isolated. Radius arm or four link. But i dont whant to disreguard a nice piece of suspention that i bought and imported to europe. No comparison for racing or ride. The wj has 5 link in front and 3 link at the back and twists with the best of them.
