How to hook up two batteries. Many power inverters utilize a 12 volt dc power source such as an automobile battery. If you install a second battery in the caravan link the two together as shown in drawing two then connect the positive from your solar regulator to the positive on battery b and the negative from your solar regulator to the negative on battery a that way any voltage drops will be equal between the two batteries. Following this example where there are two 12v 200ah batteries connected in series we will have a total voltage of 24v volts and an unchanged capacity of 200ah ampere hour.
