Pull a 12 gauge cable from the power source making sure that the power is off and the cable is dead. Connect the wires to the receptacle issuing the power to the switches.

Wiring A 2 Way Switch
How to wire multiple lights to one power source. Shut off the power to the circuit. How to wire two light switches with one power supply. Also shows how to connect more than one light to the same switch. Then connect the supply. This would be a two wire cable black white ground take the black wire and connect it to one screw on the switch and connect the ground wire to a screw inside the electrical switch box mounted to the wall. One source is spliced to each switch with a pigtail to power the two lights.
Install a double switch wall box and run the feed cable. Run cables from wall box. Then you connect the black wire for each light to one side of each switch. You will want to once again strip about an inch or so of the wires and then attach them to the green ground and then securely attach it with a screw. You basically connect the supply white wire to the white wires going to each light. Use a circuit tester to verify that the power is off to the circuit you are working on.
A switch interrupts the hot leg of the circuit so it has terminals only for black wires and ground. The terminals are brass. The source is at the switch box and a 2 wire cable is run to each light. Sam maltese shows how to wire a light when the power feed is located at the light fixture box instead of the switch box. You connect the black wire from the power source to one of these brass terminals the line terminal and the black wire going to the light fixture to the other which is the load terminal. Feed it through the back of one of the switch boxes and strip the wires.
Then you will need to attach the white wire to the silver terminal as well as the black wire to the brass terminal. Basically the simplest way to have multiple lights on one switch is to run a power supply wire to the switch first. Wiring two switches for two lights here two switches are wired in the same box to control two separate lights.
