Yesterday out of no where it seems it worked. After that there is no longer a setup screen.
Light Switch
Wemo away mode not working. I also have a wemo light switch by my front door for the outside lights but no away mode on this. So i have to turn it off again. Toggle wemo away mode with long press i have several lamps connected to wemo smart plugs and have configured an away mode rule restricted by certain times of the daynight. I assumed that the issue was connecting to my wifi. Any tipstricks to get this thing working. When i returned home i opened the app and disabled away mode.
Unplug the smart plug wait for 20 seconds and then plug it back in. Obstructions like walls cabinets and doors may interfere with your wi fi connectivity. It toggled two random lights on and then unfortunately kept those on all day and all night until i finally turned them off. I go into the wemo app and sure enough away mode is on. And then perform a power cycle. I deleted the away mode rule and recreated it.
I get a notification on my phone saying away mode has been disabled because a light switch was turned off manually. Since ive been home the away mode has been turning on by itself. Turning off a wemo device while the away mode is in place disables the rule for the rest of the day. To fix this problem first make sure that the 1st app is enabled of remote access. I have been playing around with a wemo mini since february 2019. I could complete the setup and control the device but if i unplugged it and plugged it back in it would not reconnect. You should have at least two bars of wi fi signal on your mobile device for the wemo to work properly. Wemo also works with ifttt connecting your home electronics to a whole world of online apps. If you have set up two wemo 3 way light switches wls0403 on the same circuit to manage the same light and both of the light switches appear in the wemo app choose only one of the light switches to avoid rule conflicts.
A power cycle of wemo smart plug is very simple. Delete a rule select a rule and tap delete rule.
