Run 2nd wemo black wire to black wire from old switch. Open the package of wire nuts and installation screws that came with the new light fixture.

Light switch only has one black wire. Wemo black wire to the white wire from old switch. There is also some other things in that light box i am not understanding. Smart switches use a neutral and a ground wire in addition to the line and load black wires. So i have a switch that has one black load i tested it and it has 120v one white neutral and one red. So usually a standard single pole dumb switch has two blacks. The black wire from the light to the light switch did not make my meter beep so i am not sure where it goes.
This switch and another switch can either be activated to turn on the light they are connected to. Wiring a three way switch. If you have a ground wire connect the ground wire to the green screw. Run white wemo to this common wire you add. I should also mention that it is 5 led lights. Connect the black wire to the other brass screw. I would check that the load wire probably black is securely connected to the screw labeled load.
My apologies if this has been tackled before but im trying to replace an old light switch in my bathroom and the old one only had two black wires connected to it. The hot wire in a 120 volt residential ac circuit usually is coated with black insulation while the return or neutral wire is white. I have 4 installed like this. For the ground on the wemo just cap. One is the power coming into the box the other black is power going to the light. While the light only has a black and white electrical wire some manufacturers include an addition wire.
The switch mounting box is made for a double light switch but only has 1 switch mounted in it. This is a typical wiring setup for a 3 way light switch with black white red and ground wires. With only 1 black and 1 white they are both black as far as hooking up wemo.
